Broadband Access
for Putnam
Putnam County is eligible for millions of dollars in grant money to install broadband Internet access in our under-served areas. Please fill out the online broadband survey at http://www.nfba-fl.org/survey.asp and help Putnam County be among the first open “Middle Mile” access to broadband Internet for the under-served counties of northern Florida.
Within three years, North Florida Broadband Authority, a government agency, will deliver up to 1,000 times the existing broadband capacity to counties that qualify. If you are not able to answer each question on the survey, please answer the questions you can. It will record your survey as complete even if every question is not answered.
After School...
Fencing and More
Fencing is a very popular sport for both men and women at American colleges and universities. Nearly 1000 universities and colleges award one or more scholarships to very talented fencing players which enables them to participate in collegiate and intercollegiate matches.
In our After School Program we will be offering Three sections of Fencing Classes will be offered on Tuesdays and Wednesdays beginning November 30. Space is limited. Classes will be from 2:00-5:00.
Bus transportation and a light dinner will be provided. All students are eligible to take the classes that range from chess to fencing. See Mr. Perez for an application. His office is located across from the cafeteria.
Students had the opportunity to play chess Wednesday, November 18 as a forerunner to the start of the after school events.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
The Crescent City Woman's Club needs many volunteers for their Christmas/ Holiday Festival the first weekend in December. They especially need help with children's games, face painting and any school organization that wants to set up a fund raising booth. Please see Mrs. Sauls ASAP to help the ladies plan for the festival.
