The implementation of a new computer documentation system called Skyward caused a bit of a slow down in getting students registered for their classes. At the end of the first week the “glitches” are just about worked out.

Attendance is electronically submitted each period, eliminating the loopholes and time lag that allowed students to skip classes and not get caught right away. It is expected that parents and students will be able to log onto the system by the second semester and view attendance and grades with a secure password.

The program presents a bit of a learning curve but promises to streamline data entry, save time for educators and improve communication.

Friends gather in the halls before the start of class. Students have four minutes between classes.
